Bithoor Shakti

Embroidery Clusters

First Time ADHAR identified women artisans of Zari Zardozi craft and the organization mobilized them identifying their basic skills of Zari zardozi craft. Women artisans of Bithoor clusters were in poor condition. They were unorganized and having no access to funds. They were living under drudgery and no one was there to help them to come out of the grip of money lenders.

That poor situation of the artisans prompted ADHAR to do some realistic work for their empowerment. The organization conducted a baseline survey of the artisans cluster’s with the support of Development Comissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles under Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana (AHVY) scheme in 2012.

After conducting the baseline survey, organization mobilized the artisans to form their Self Help Groups (SHGs) and open accounts in the nationalized banks.
